Profile Born in Israel (1982), composer Gilad Hochman is widely regarded as one of the most promising young Israeli musicians. He is the youngest composer to be awarded the prestigious Israeli Prime Minister Award (2007) at age 24, and, at age 22, was appointed to be the composer in residence of the Israeli Ra`anana Symphonett Orchestra. Mr. Hochman had studied with composer Ilya Heifets, after which he graduated (cum laude) from the Buchman-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, under the auspices of composer Gil Shohat. Today, Gilad Hochman resides in Berlin.
