Profile Patrick Harrex (born 1946, London, UK) studied Music & Education at York University. In 1986 he won first prize in the BBC Composers’ Competition and gained a French Government Scholarship to attend Messiaen’s composition class in Paris and to study privately with the composer and conductor Gilbert Amy. His music has been performed and broadcast around the world and commercially recorded in the UK, Canada and Luxembourg where he won 2nd prize in the international competition “Luxembourg 2003”.
