Profile Brazilian composer. MM from the University of Rio de Janeiro (97), and DMA from Columbia University, NYC (03). In 2001 she worked at IRCAM, Paris. Works range from the acoustic repertoire, (solo, chamber), to computer music, and multimedia works. Short-listed for the Prix-SCRIME (03), France, and for the Festival Confluencias (06), Spain. After a teaching/research on music/multimedia at the University of Rio de Janeiro (2003-05), Elaine now works as a free-lance composer based in Paris, France.
