Tapiola Choir announces an international choral composition competition 2020. The competition is open for all applicants internationally and has no age limit. The aim of the competition is to find new and interesting compositions especially for children’s and youth choirs (SSA). The results of the competition will be announced in June 2020. The category of the competition is SSA, children’s choirs, a cappella. The adaptation of the piece needs to be suitable for children’s choirs of all ages. The composition must be previously unperformed as well as unpublished and its duration must be between 2 and 4 minutes. The members of the jury are Tapiola Choir’s artistic director Pasi Hyökki, publishing director Reijo Kekkonen (Sulasol), choral director Sanna Salminen (Vox Aurea) and choral director Viena Kangas (CandoMini). A total of €3,000 will be awarded at the discretion of the jury. The jury also reserves the right to not to distribute prizes. The compositions can be submitted by email to competition@tapiolankuoro.fi The submission closes on the 6th of January 2020 at 24 hours (UTC +2).
