Details: Musica Viva Association is pleased to announce its first call for scores in order to create a season of contemporary music in the city of Verona.

The call is open to composers of any nationality, without age limits. The instruments available are:
▪ Violin
▪ Clarinet (Bb, La, bass clarinet)
▪ Electric guitar
▪ Percussion (1 player) -marimba (four octaves) -vibraphone
-wood blocks
-snare
-cymbals

The compositions must have a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

It is possible to write for the complete ensemble or for any combination of the instruments available (including solo instruments).

The use of electronics is not permitted; electric guitar effects are allowed and must be clearly specified in the score.

Composers can send up to a maximum of two compositions, without limits of language, style or aesthetics.

The contest is not anonymous: send a curriculum vitae (max 400 words), a recent photo of the composer, the scores in pdf format to the email of the association info@associazionemusicaviva.com (preferably written on computer support like finale or sibelius) and, if already performed, a recording (not mandatory, however) in audio format (wave, aiff, mp3).

Jury: Matias Ramisch, Victor Andrini, Matteo Rigotti.
The winner will receive a plaque and the professional registration of the composition.

The second and third prizes will receive a certificate of participation.

All the first three selected compositions will be performed in concert by the Musica Viva Ensemble at the discretion of the jury. Up to a maximum of two other compositions will be mentioned (in addition to the winners) which, although not classified, will be included in the setlist of the final concert of the call.

Place and date of the concert will be announced later.

Composers are not required to attend the concert; any cost will be at the expense of the composers themselves.

Participation includes the payment of 25 euros for a single score (35 euros in the case of two scores) as administrative fees to be paid by bank transfer to the IBAN of the association.

The receipt of the payment must be attached in pdf format and sent by email together with the other requested documents.

The deadline for sending the material is JANUARY 31ST, 2020. The results will be announced on MARCH 1st, 2020.
