CALL FOR SCORES – KHEMIA ENSEMBLE

CALL FOR SCORES – KHEMIA ENSEMBLE
Summary:Call for Chamber Scores
Deadline: 01 October 2018
Date Posted: 29 August 2018
Details: Application opens: August 20th, 2018
Application ends: October 1, 2018

Khemia Ensemble announces our first ever Call for Scores. “Identity” is the theme for our 2018-19 season and in keeping with this theme we are holding our first call to showcase the voices of the composition community. We are especially interested in works that engage with the season theme in some way. Works may approach this theme from any perspective; we will do the work to make it fit in the broader scope of our season's performances. We will select 1-3 works to be performed at least once during our 2018-19 season. The entire application process is easy, electronic and free.

Formed in 2015, Khemia Ensemble is a contemporary chamber ensemble focused on championing the works of living composers through vivid, multimedia performances. The ensemble is quickly gaining a reputation as one to watch with recent performances at National Sawdust, Strange Beautiful Music X, New Music Gathering and MoxSonic. Khemia has held residencies at Avaloch Farms (2016, 2017), University of Missouri, Tufts University, the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Universidad de Nacional de Córdoba, and Universidad Nacional de Bogotá, and has received grants from the Foundation of Contemporary Arts, the University of Michigan EXCEL Program and the Paul R. Judy Center for Innovation and Research Grant from the Eastman School of Music, among others.
