The Central European String Quartet announces an exciting international composition competition in 2018 to support and promote a new work of a talented and deserving composer! For the application form, please click here. Conditions of participation: • Composers of all ages and nationalities may participate. • It is possible to apply with multiple pieces. • Freshly composed string quartets (two violins, viola, cello) lasting between 4 to 10 minutes are acceptable. Works should not have been published or performed in public before 1 December 2018. • The theme this year is "the lark". Although it is not a requirement, preference will be given to works containing this theme. • Electroacoustic music is not allowed. • The jury reserves the right not to award all prizes. • Winners will be announced by 21 September 2018. • The decisions of the jury are final and may not be contested. Application fee: 40 EUR or 12.000 HUF per composition, paid via PayPal by clicking here. Alternatively, it is possible to pay the application fee by bank transfer. Please send an email to receive instructions and details. The application fee is non-refundable. Application: The application must be sent by 1 September 2018 to: centraleuropeanstringquartet@yahoo.com The application must include ALL of the following materials: • PDF file of the score of the string quartet the applicant is applying with (full score as well as parts) • Proof of payment of the application fee • The scanned application form (printed and signed) • The applicant’s resume in English or Hungarian • Publicity photograph • Scanned copy of personal ID or passport Incomplete applications will not be considered. Prizes: 1st prize: 120.000 HUF The winning composition will be premiered and performed in at least two concerts at important venues by the Central European String Quartet, in Budapest, Hungary, during the 2018/19 season. Venues to be announced. 2nd prize: 35.000 HUF Note: Winners need not be present to receive their monetary awards and diplomas. However, the winner of the 1st prize is invited and encouraged to attend the premiere of his or her work. Jury: (Members of the Central European String Quartet) Miranda Liu – violinist (USA) Máté Soós – violinist (Hungary) Haruka Nagao – violinist / violist (Japan) Judit Szabó – cellist (Hungary) --- By submitting their works, applicants fully accept the requirements and conditions stated above. Winners agree to have their works performed by the Central European String Quartet during the 2018-19 concert season without receiving compensation. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Felhívás a Central European String Quartet I. Nemzetközi Zeneszerzőversenyére A Central European String Quartet nemzetközi zeneszerzőversenyt hirdet 2018-ban. A jelentkezési lap ide kattintva letölthető. Részvételi feltételek: - A versenyen bármilyen nemzetiségű művész részt vehet, egy szerző több pályaművel is nevezhet korhatár nélkül. -Min. 4, és max. 10 perces, vonósnégyesre (két hegedű, brácsa, cselló) írt művek fogadhatók el, amennyiben kiadatlanok és 2018. december 1. előtt nem kerültek nyilvános előadásra. - Idén a téma "a pacsirta". Bár nem feltétel, előnyt jelent, ha az adott darabban megjelenik a pacsirta. - Előre rögzített felvétel vagy kiterjesztett technika használata nem megengedett. - A zsűri jogában áll az egyes díjak odaítélésétől eltekinteni, ha a jelentkezések nem érik el a megfelelő szintet. A zsűri döntése ellen fellebbezni nem lehet. - Az eredményhirdetés szeptember 21. előtt várható. Nevezési díj: Pályaművenként 12.000 HUF vagy 40 EUR, amelyet ezen a PayPal linken keresztül lehet befizetni a jelentkezés határidejéig. Lehetőség van a nevezési díj befizetésére banki átutalással is, további részletekért kérjük, küldjön e-mailt. A nevezési díj nem visszatéríthető. A jelentkezésnek tartalmaznia kell a következőket: - Magát a vonósnégyesre írt pályaművet pdf formátumban (partitúra, valamint külön szólamok) - A nevezési díj befizetésének kinyomtatott igazolását - A kinyomtatott aláírt jelentkezési lapot szkennelve - A pályázó magyar vagy angol nyelvű életrajzát - Fényképet - Személyi igazolvány vagy útlevél másolatát (szkennelve) A kért mellékletek nélkül a pályázat érvénytelen! Díjak: 1. díj: 120.000 HUF (ösztöndíj) A díjnyertes mű bemutatójára a 2018/2019 évadban kerül sor a Central European String Quartet előadásában Magyarországon, Budapesten, ezen kívül elhangzik legalább egy további koncerten. 2. díj: 35.000 HUF (ösztöndíj) Ajánlott, de nem kötelező a díjazottoknak jelen lenniük a koncerteken.
