Closes: 3rd September 2018 Location: London, All composers welcome Type: Part time (work experience) The Night With… announces its second call for scores for emerging composers for works for Juice Vocal Ensemble to be performed at The Night With… Juice Vocal Ensemble, 13thand 14thNovember in the Hug and Pint (Glasgow) and the Fruitmarket (Edinburgh). The programme will include music by Claire McCue and Mica Levi. From the initial submissions up to five works will be chosen for a workshop with Juice 13thNovember in Glasgow (times and venue to be confirmed). Fewer may be selected at the discretion of the judges. One of the five works will be chosen to feature in The Night With… concerts on 13thand 14thNovember 2018. This call for scores is as much about finding and developing interesting new music and composers as finding a new work that will fit within the programme. Deadline 3rd September 2018 Workshop in Glasgow (venue tbc) 13thNovember 2018 Concerts 13th and 14th November All scores must be submitted under a pseudonym. Any scores with identifying marks will be discarded. Works must be for the trio (2x soprano, alto. Subsets of the ensemble will not be accepted. Submissions can be up to 10 minutes long. Composers should consult the ‘Guidelines on Writing for Juice’ document when composing their piece http://juicevocalensemble.net/guidelines-writing-juice/ Pieces must not have been premiered, however they do not necessarily have to be written for this call. It is the responsibility of the composer to acquire any rights or permissions to text used in the pieces. By submitting to this call for scores the composer confirms that these have been obtained. It is recognized that composers can begin their career at any age. Therefor ‘emerging’ is defined by the composer themselves though will be at the discretion of judges. Attendance at the workshop is required. There is a small bursary (up to £100) available to cover travel and accommodation expenses of those selected.
