Open Rehearsal for Young Composers

 Open Rehearsal for Young Composers
Summary:BBC composing event (young composers)
Deadline: 10 March 2018
Date Posted: 01 March 2018
Details: BBC Proms Inspire Session for young composers with the BBC SSO

You’re invited to go behind the scenes with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, as they rehearse new music by composers Charlotte Bray, John Hopkins, Thomas Hyde and Diana Burrell at Glasgow City Halls. Be the first to hear world premiere works at the orchestra’s rehearsal and put your questions to the composers, in advance of a free 'Hear and Now' evening concert. If you’re thinking about entering this year’s BBC Proms Inspire Competition this is a great opportunity to take inspiration from some of the UK’s most exciting composers. Proms Inspire Ambassadors (previous winners of the competition) will be on hand to tell you more about the Proms Inspire scheme and offer tips and advice on any draft scores you bring along.

This event will take place from 14.30-17.30 and is open to 12 to 18 year-olds who are interested in creating music or learning more about composition. Parents/guardians do not need to accompany you at this event. It’s free to take part but places must be booked in advance by completing the booking form.
