Deadline: March 20th, 2018 Hertzbreakerz (https://hertzbreakerz.wordpress.com/), in collaboration with Ars Nova Society, is seeking for acousmatic and electroacoustic music works to be included in the “SOUND SPACES” music festival which will be held in Malmö, Sweden during May and June 2018 (dates to be defined). The festival seeks to provide the city of Malmö with new and recent music, and involve different venues, with events ranging from pure acousmatic music to ensemble works. In this frame, the festival is selecting at least two pieces to be performed by members of Ars Nova Ensemble, a group of new music performers founded in 1961 in Malmö. The call is divided into two sections: • Section A: electroacoustic music (live instruments and electronics) • Section B: acousmatic music (diffused live on a small acousmonium) General Conditions: • The call is open to composers of any nationality, with no restrictions whatsoever. • Each composer may submit more then one composition for each section (A and B), provided that the relevant fees are paid. See next paragraph for the specifications. Fees are used to partially defray the costs of the performances. • Submissions are due by 24:00 of the 20th of March, 2018, with the winners announced by the 1st of April, 2018. • Any duration is accepted but we strongly recommend submissions around 8-12 minutes. • By submitting, the author accepts to provide the performance materials at no further cost for the organization. • Regarding the electroacoustic pieces (Section A), combinations of at least two of the following options are accepted: • Flute (also piccolo); • Objects (easy and inexpensive to buy, or provided by the author); • Electronics (tape, amplification and/or live electronics.
