Location: Yorkshire, and all UK Type: Part time Salary: Paid (£10k-15k pro rata) High Hat Theatre are seeking a musical composer/sound designer who could create a soundtrack for our performance project The World Watcher. This is a participatory piece of movement theatre and dance, involving workshops and devising sessions with young people that lead to a final performance. It will mean some flexibility, and an emphasis on creating an otherworldly, evocative mood to transform the setting and the contribution of the young actors taking part. The soundtrack would be composed of a number of sequences; these might combine atmospheric music, some rhythmic passages, or ambient sounds, to complement the mythic, magical themes of the piece. These sequences would be used for both the workshops and the final performance which will be 45 minutes maximum, and weather permitting held outdoors. The project will run from early July. We are making a funding application to allow this exciting project to take place, so pending this there will be a fee paid for the music and sound design.
