Details: For this brand-new chamber music workshop, the Spanish composer Alberto Posadas will offer 8 young composers to use emblematic works from the Centre Pompidou’s collection as inspiration. The theme of this workshop is "Music and Painting", the same theme used for a new hanging of the collection's works in June 2017 called L’oeil écoute. For a week, the composers will work in-depth on an experimental piece and take advantage of privileged interactions with renowned musicians and advice from Alberto Posadas to complete their pieces.

Selected composers must (under penalty of loss of student status):
- commit to writing an original score with the following characteristics:
between 5 and 7 minutes long
the work must use one of the following formations:
duo - harp, contrabass
trio – select from bassoon, horn, trombone, cello
quartet – clarinet, violin, viola, cello
- the work must be able to be performed without a conductor, both during rehearsals and for all public presentations
- send an artist’s statement by email describing the musical project with confirmation of the instrumentation before Tuesday, January 17, 2017
- pay all registration fees in full before Tuesday, January 17, 2017
- send their scores by e-mail before Tuesday, April 11, 2017 (conductor and other parts separate).
