The International Composers’ Forum and Competition ALFRED SCHNITTKE was born from the idea to create a project that will work on the meeting of the contemporary music of our time, dedicated to the memory of the great russian composer of 20th century Alfred Schnittke (1934-1998). The 1st International Composers’ Forum and Competition ALFRED SCHNITTKE is open to all composers of any age and nationality, who want to share their musical and personal journey, attend seminars and opportunities for discussion, on the music of our time, and on the figure of the Composer in this Third Millennium. The organization will select 12 composers who will have the opportunity to participate into the International Composers’ Forum and Competition ALFRED SCHNITTKE from 06 to 10 December 2016 in the city of Lviv (Ukraine). All composers who wish to participate must write an original work with organic selected from 3 to 15 instruments: 1 soprano, 2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello, 1 contrabbass, 1 piano, 1 flute (ottavino), 1 oboe (horn anglais), 1 clarinet (bass clarinet), 1 bassoon, 1 trumpet, 1 frenchhorn, 2 percussionists (Timpani, Bass drum, Snare drum, Cymbals, Triangle, Vibraphone, Xilophone, Gong, Woodblocks, Tubular bells). Deadline: 25 October 2016. The work must not exceed 8 minutes. All score will be sent by email (only one work for composer), in PDF format, at info@klknewmusic.com. The 12 composers’ selected works will be performed in two final concerts 09 and 10 December by Klknewmusic Ensemble inside the Concert Hall of Lviv Philharmonic Society, in Tchaikovsky str. 7. The concerts will be recorded by a sound engineer with the selected works. A movie director will make a video of the concerts. |
