Details: The University of St Andrews Music Centre, Scottish Music Centre and Sally Beamish are looking for new work to be featured in a concert by the St Andrews New Music Ensemble. DEADLINE: 7th April 2013

Composers of any age are invited to submit works for any combination of the following forces:

Flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, two horns and strings (3,3,2,2,1).

Pieces must not have previously been performed and should be between 5 and 7 minutes long.

At least three scores will be selected for a rehearsal and workshop with Sally Beamish on the 14th of April, with one work being selected for performance in the concert at 11am on the 27th of April. Featured alongside the work selected from the ‘Call for Scores’ will be Sinfonietta by Benjamin Britten and Into the Furnace by Sally Beamish. The concert is part of the University of St Andrews Britten Week. Sally Beamish is one of Britain's leading composers whose music is performed and broadcast internationally. She is working closely with the University of St Andrews Music Centre on a range of projects, including a major new commission for St Salvator's Chapel Choir and the St Andrews Chamber Orchestra to celebrate the University's 600th Anniversary.
