 New Music on the Point
Summary:Course for composers
Deadline: 01 February 2013
Date Posted: 08 January 2013
Details: June, 2013 will mark the third year of the New Music On The Point Festival, our new two-week summer composition and contemporary chamber music program. We wanted to let you know about this exciting opportunity for student composers. This June our faculty composers are Kathryn Alexander (Yale University), Jason Eckardt (SUNY/Brooklyn), and Michael Klingbeil (Yale University). Our ensemble-in-residence is the International Contemporary Ensemble/ICE (New York City), our vocalist-in-residence is the exciting mezzo-soprano Jennifer Beattie (Philadelphia) and our collaborative pianist-in-residence is Donna Loewy (CCM). Each participating composer will have the opportunity to compose one new work that will be premiered by the New Music On The Point faculty co-performing with participating instrumentalists and singers. Instrumentation will be drawn from flute, bassoon, violin, violoncello, piano, soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor and baritone.
