1. The Joyful Company of Singers (JCS) is pleased to announce its First Choral Composition Competition for young composers. 2. Participation is open to composers under the age of 30 years on August 1st 2013, born or living in the United Kingdom. 3. Composers are invited to submit one a cappella composition (SATB or divided into as many as eight parts, SSAATTBB) with a duration of between three and five minutes (3’-5’). The text of the composition can be sacred or secular, in any language (but please note that an English translation is required for texts in other languages) and written for any occasion. Pre-existing texts should be in the public domain. Where this is not the case, permission to set a text and publish it subsequently must be obtained in writing from the author or copyright holder and enclosed with the entry form. |
