Pierre Jalbert wins the $25,000 Stoeger Prize

The $25,000 Elise L. Stoeger Prize has been awarded to composer Pierre Jalbert.

Jalbert, 39, is a member of the faculty member at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music in Houston, and was given the award by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in recognition of "significant contributions to the chamber music repertory".


Previous Stoeger winners include Gunther Schuller, Oliver Knussen, Osvaldo Golijov, Aaron Jay Kernis and Nicholas Maw.
