Profile Dr. Nocella has composed 3 symphonies, 2 concertos, ballets, chamber music, wind ensemble music, a Missa Brevis plus other choral/vocal works. He studied with Michael White, Robert Morgan, and Clifford Taylor. He attended seminars with Vincent Persichetti, George Rochberg, and with Roger Sessions as a Tanglewood Fellow in 1966. He also studied viola with Leonard Mogill and plays on an instrument made by Sergio Peresson in 1972. In addition to composing and performing, Dr. Nocella teaches at Penn State University.
