Profile Slatons` group works focus on electro-acoustic composition and improvisation. His arrangements for strings, horns and live electronics include melodies written to be used as material for sampling. As a foundation, Slaton uses looped segments of the performance to create dense but detailed masses of sound. The pieces proceed as the musicians interact by utilizing composed fragments as starting points. Slatons` solo works include no-input mixing, acoustic double bass and studio production work.
