Profile Jeffrey Treviņo is a PhD student in composition at the University of California, San Diego, where he studies music with Rand Steiger, Roger Reynolds, Philippe Manoury, Tom Erbe, Charles Curtis, and Steven Schick. His previous teachers include Mark Applebaum, Brian Ferneyhough, Pauline Oliveros, and Max Mathews. Last year, his string quartet, Forty-Two Statcoulombs, was performed and recorded by the Arditti String Quartet and the Ensemble Surplus; he is currently undertaking a percussion duo.
