Profile Alex Flood was Organ Scholar at Jesus College, Oxford, where he read music with John Caldwell and studied organ with John Wellingham.
Having obtained a distinction in the MMus degree at King’s College, London, Alex has recently completed a PhD in Composition supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, supervised by Silvina Milstein and George Benjamin. Alex’s music is highly acclaimed for its imaginative use of instruments and voices within a strong long-range harmonic framework. His works have won numerous awards and competitions, and have been performed by ensembles including Gemini, Lontano, Chinook, the BBC Singers and St Paul’s Cathedral Choir.
