Profile David was one of the SPNM’s featured composers 2001-2004 since his work for chamber orchestra, ‘Cause and Reaction’, was shortlisted in 2001. In 2005 David completed his first film score, for the Anglo-Polish co-production, ‘The Compartment’, directed by Milan Babic. David’s new CD is now available – a setting of Mañana (Morning) by Pablo Neruda for soprano and string quartet (the Tippett Quartet). This disc also features the piece ‘Returns and Retorts’ for ‘cello and piano, performed by Leonid Gorokhov and Huw Watkins.
