The eight-piece chorus will feature singers Sharon Harms, Melanie Mitrano, Eleanor Taylor, Melanie Gall, Gonzalo Mena, Charles Coleman, and Doug Shapiro, among others, conducted by Thomas Carlo Bo.
On October 15th, Composers Concordance continues its series ‘Pitches at an Exhibition’ with the art & music event ‘CHORUS 72.’ Presented at the innovative Gallery MC, this will feature Rainer Gross’ epic series ’72,’ inspired by the kabbalah, plus a live performance of nearly fifty one-minute choral compositions inspired by the paintings.

Joining BMOP on the Jordan Hall stage are guests artists Nareh Arghamanyan (piano), Terry Everon (trumpet), the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum, and Boston University’s Marsh Chapel Choir.
The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation’s premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, opens its 20th anniversary season with Resilient Voices: 1915-2015, a concert commemorating the centennial of the Armenian genocide, in collaboration with Friends of Armenian Culture Society. The program includes 20th century works by Komitas/Aslamazyan, Alan Hovhaness, and Dmitri Shostakovich, as well as the Boston premiere of Tigran Mansurian’s 2009 Requiem.

Kinan Azmeh, painter and digital artist Kevork Mourad, and film maker and writer Khalil Younes
From Syria, clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh (“intensely soulful, a virtuoso” – The New York Times), is joined by painter and digital artist Kevork Mourad, and film maker and writer, Khalil Younes in a live, 60-minute audio-visual performance that is the centerpiece the evening’s exploration of the role of the artist in society. In this work, art and music develop in counterpoint to each other, creating a beautiful impressionistic reflection on the Syrian revolution and its aftermath. Also on the program is a premiere of a new work by Kinan Azmeh and film maker Khalil Younes for clarinet, electronics, and string quartet, performed with the Lydian String Quartet, resident faculty ensemble at Brandeis since 1980.
The visiting Syrian artists conclude a week-long residency on the Brandeis campus with the concert on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 8 p.m (preconcert talk at 7 p.m.) at the Slosberg Music Center.
The pre concert talk “Art, Beauty, and War: A Short History” will be given at 7 p.m. by Dr. James Thompson, Professor of Applied and Social Theater at the University of Manchester and Director of the In Place of War project that supports arts in war and conflict zones. There will be a post-concert reception and conversation with the artists.

World-renowned artists Mika (marimba) and Richard Stoltzman (clarinet) return to Carnegie Hall on November 5, 2015, to showcase their amazing versatility and crossover ability in a one-night only concert event. The program includes works by Chick Corea, John Zorn, Toru Takemitsu, Bach, Ravel, and Stravinsky, as well as the world premiere of William T. McKinley’s 22-movement Mostly Blues for Clarinet and Marimba. Joining the duo on stage are guest artists Eddie Gomez (bass), Adam Albert (clarinet), John Hamann (bass clarinetist), and Miki Orihara (principal dancer of the Martha Graham Dance Company).
