The program highlights two of the greatest English composers, Vaughan Williams, with a performance of his Mass in G Minor, and his friend and mentee Herbert Howells, with a performance of his Take him, earth, for cherishing. In contrast, Cantata Singers also presents works by two of the greatest American composers of the 20th century: Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein; and Psalm 90 by Charles Ives. www.cantatasingers.org |
