This 30-strong string orchestra, comprised of the best players across
Cambridge University, returns once again to Trinity College Chapel, this time for a programme of all-English music. Alwyn's 'Concerto Grosso No. 2' is a continuation of the celebration of the recent centenary of his birth, and Giles Swayne's 'All About Henry' for sixteen-part strings is performed in the presence of the composer in this, his 60th birthday year. Graham Ross' 'Crossing Brooklyn Ferry' is a new work for mezzo-soprano, harp and double string orchestra, presenting a rare setting of Walt Whitman's celebrated poem.
