Description
As part of the composition process for the chamber orchestra work Carrion Comfort, based on the poem of the same name by Gerard Manley Hopkins, I created an 'intensity map' of the poem, in gouache and watercolour, to help me with structuring the work. At the suggestion of a friend, this map has become a work in its own right - a graphic score, which has already been interpreted by Stuart Russell as an electroacoustic work, and will be receiving its world premiere as a live-performance work when Midnight Llama perform it in Colchester on 3 December 2011.
