Enchanted April (1:43) - John Elliott

Description

20-25 March 2006. MIDI-Contest: MidiEngine: Intel(r) 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio Controller (yes, it's embedded in this laptop) Sequencer: Finale 2006. MidiFont: SmartMusic SmartSynth 1 (is that the MidiFont?) Written for flute and two harps, this is being used as some of the music for Albany (Oregon) Civic Theater's (http://www.albanycivic.org) current production of Enchanted April (for which I also designed the set). Act I is set in the 1920s in dreary, rainy England, from which several women band together to flee to Italy. Act II is all ablossom with summer in an Italian castle/villa. This piece hints, neat the end, at the joy they will find when they get to Italy.
