The Light of Stars (Live, 2010)
Shortlisted in the NCEM Composers' Award 2010. This is the workshop recording, made by the Ebor Singers.

Nocturne (2011)
Nocturne is an eleven-minute work scored for chamber orchestra. The piece is very static and calm throughout, with simplistic oboe solos being prevalent throughout. The calm is disturbed by obtuse, weird brass fanfares leading up to the climax, breaking up the very chordal texture which had come before. The piece, almost always struggling to escape from its state of calmness, ends as it began by disappearing to almost nothing. This recording is the RNCM Brand New Orchestra, conducted by Jon Malaxetxebarria.

Skirll (live from the Berlin Philharmonie)
Skirll is scored for 10-piece brass ensemble and percussion, and was commissioned by WorldBrass. The ensemble have given the work 11 performances throughout Germany. This recording is live from the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, performed on 2nd January 2011.

Kerfuffle (2008)
Recorded by members of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra on the 9th February 2008. Kerfuffle was a commission from BBC Proms for a new piece as follow-up for winning the Young Composer of the Year 2007. The piece was also performed on the 26th July 2008 by the Aurora Orchestra in the Britten Theatre, RCM, London.

Sanctorum Piissimme Columba (2009, exerpts from)
Live recording made by the Incholm Ensemble - a group run by Heriot Watt University and directed by Steve King. The piece is based on a piece of Scottish plainchant of the same name, and was joint winner of the Heriot Watt Young Composers' Competition.

Beastie (2008, exerpt)
Solo tuba - Nick Etheridge. Recorded for release on album of solo tuba works in summer 2008.

Dance (2007, Exerpt)
This is Tom's winning entry in the BBC PROMS / Guardian Young Composers' Competition 2007. Here, it is performed by Endymion as part of the 2007 BBC PROMS series at Cadogan Hall, London, where it was recorded for broadcast on 24th August 2007 on BBC Radio 3.

Tubams (with Hammond Organ, 2009))
Commissioned for Fifth Summit of the Americas, Trinidad and Tobago. Solo tuba - Nick Etheridge. For solo tuba, drums and untuned percussion. Was written with the idea of having something easily accessible, funky, rhythmic and catchy for the event of The Fifth Summit of the Americas.

The Day is Done (2009)
Shortlisted in the National Centre for Early Music Composers' Competition. Performed by The Ebor Singers. Text from Longfellow (adapted): The day is done and the darkness falls from the wings of the night as a feather is wafted downward from an eagle in his flight And the cares that infest the day shall fold their tents like the Arabs and as silently steal away.

A Night-Piece (2009)
A setting of a Wordsworth poem of the same name. Sight-record/workshop by Rebecca Lea with members of the RNCM New Ensemble, as part of a composer lab. Conducted by Ian Davis. Rough Edit!

Saxophone Quartet (2010)
Performed by The Absolution Saxophone Quartet. Written to be performed by Northern Ballet School outreach project with choreographers and dancers from the NBS.
