Russell Hepplewhite Biography

Russell Hepplewhite studied Piano with Alicja Fiderkiewicz and Composition with Dr Jeremy Pike at Chetham's School of Music, before gaining a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music, London. At the RCM he studied Piano with the Head of Keyboards Andrew Ball, and Composition with Timothy Salter. He has had works performed at St. James' Church Piccadilly, St. Paul's Church, Covent Garden, and the Library Theatre, Luton. His song 'My Star' was performed by Mary Plazas at the Wigmore Hall in 2003, as part of Richard Sisson's 'Songbook' Series. He has composed scores for the Southwark Playhouse, worked as Assistant Musical Director on two productions at the Guildhall School of Drama and one at RADA, and composed for 'The Winter's Tale' at the Mayfield Festival. More recently he has composed and led workshops for English Touring Opera, Opera House Music Productions, and played on several shows in the West End. He examines for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and is part of a highly successful duo with cellist Rebecca Hewes. Their website is www.duoperspective.com
