How We Rate

Last Updated: July 9, 2026

A Process Built on Consistency, Not Convenience

Every sportsbook review published on this platform is the product of a structured evaluation process. Our editors and analysts apply the same criteria to every operator, in the same order, with the same standard of scrutiny. That consistency is what makes our ratings meaningful and comparable.

The US regulated sports betting market is competitive and increasingly complex. Operators vary significantly in what they offer, and a sportsbook that excels in one area may underperform in another. Our job is to map those differences clearly and honestly.

What We Stand For

Fairness, transparency, and player focus are the principles that guide every assessment. We are not here to rank operators based on who pays the most for visibility. Our team strives to evaluate platforms on what they actually deliver to bettors in the US market, and to present those findings in a way that is clear and actionable.

We maintain affiliate partnerships with some of the operators we review. These relationships fund the platform and allow us to operate independently. They do not determine ratings. Our editorial team assesses every sportsbook on merit, and a strong commercial relationship will not improve a poor score. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.

The Seven Criteria We Evaluate

Odds Quality

Odds quality is often the single most important factor for regular bettors, and it receives serious attention in our process. We compare moneyline, spread, and totals pricing across major markets to assess how competitive an operator is against the industry average. Tighter juice and better pricing directly affect long-term value, and operators are rated accordingly.

Market Range

The best sportsbooks offer depth beyond the major leagues. Our team looks at how broadly an operator covers sports, leagues, and bet types, from NFL primetime games to college basketball conference matchups to international soccer. Breadth of coverage matters, especially for bettors with niche interests or sharp market tendencies.

Live Betting

In-play betting is now a significant part of how US bettors engage with sports. We assess the quality and reliability of live betting interfaces, the range of markets available during play, and how quickly lines update. A live betting product that lags, lacks markets, or suspends too frequently under pressure is a real limitation.

Promotions

Bonus offers and promotional incentives are evaluated for genuine value, not just headline figures. We read the terms, assess rollover requirements, and consider how accessible the value actually is for the average bettor. A large welcome offer with restrictive conditions often delivers less than a modest one with fair terms.

Cash-Out Options

The ability to settle a bet before an event concludes adds meaningful flexibility. We look at whether cash-out is available, how broadly it applies across markets, how competitive the offered values are, and whether partial cash-out options exist. This feature varies considerably across operators in the US market.

Mobile Experience

Most US bettors place the majority of their wagers through mobile devices. We test apps across both iOS and Android, evaluating navigation, load speed, betting slip functionality, and the overall reliability of the experience during high-traffic periods like NFL Sunday afternoons.

Licensing

Legal compliance is non-negotiable. We verify that every operator we review holds valid state-level licenses in the jurisdictions where they operate. Platforms operating without proper authorization are excluded from our ratings entirely. We also monitor any regulatory actions, penalties, or compliance issues that may affect how an operator is rated over time.

Reviews Are Not Static

An assessment made at launch does not reflect how an operator performs six months later. Our team revisits reviews regularly to account for product changes, updated promotions, and any regulatory developments. When something meaningful changes, the review changes too.

This commitment to ongoing accuracy is part of what we believe separates credible sportsbook coverage from content that is published once and forgotten.
