The DePaul University School of Music announces a week-long Summer Residency for New Music in collaboration with the acclaimed new music chamber group Ensemble Dal Niente and featuring distinguished guest composer Hilda Paredes. During this week, young composers and performers will have opportunities to collaborate on new projects, work side-by-side with Ensemble Dal Niente musicians, participate in master classes and receive individualized feedback. The composition program includes lessons with DePaul faculty members Osnat Netzer, Fred Gifford and Christopher Wendell Jones, as well as with guest composer, Hilda Paredes. The performance program includes lessons, coaching and rehearsals with members of Ensemble Dal Niente. All students will participate in lectures, demonstrations and workshops with DePaul faculty and members of Ensemble Dal Niente. Performers of the following instruments are encouraged to apply: flute, clarinet, percussion, harp, guitar, piano, cello and violin (doubling viola). Compositions realized during the week-long residency will be performed in evening concerts by Ensemble Dal Niente and performer particpants in the School of Music's brand new, state-of-the-art Holtschneider Performance Center.
