Details: We are happy to announce the call for scores for the Universal Artists Festival 2019! Selected composers are welcome to attend the rehearsals and the performance. Each composer will have the chance to collaborate with ensembles in residence. This is a unique opportunity not only to share your work with audience from both Boston and New York City but also with visiting musicians and composers from around the world.

The scores will be reviewed by the Universal Artists Festival committee. Up to four chamber pieces, two choral pieces and one orchestra pieces will be selected. The selected chamber pieces will be performed by the faculty members during the forum between 5th-18th August with possible future performances by Innuan (https://www.facebook.com/Innuan.org/) for their 2019-2020 season in New York. the selected pieces for choral and orchestra will be performed at Jordan Hall on 18th August, the festival final concert.

1. Chamber music
o From solo up to 5 musicians: piano, violin x 2, viola, and cello
o Duration: No longer than 12 minutes
2. Choral music for Boston Chinese Musicians Association Choir
o SSAATTBB (10 people for each voice)
o Duration: 5-7 minutes
3. Orchestral Work
o Instrumentation: 8-8-6-4-2, 2-2-2-2, 4-2-0-0, Timpani x 1
o Duration: 6 – 8 minutes
o String Orchestra and large ensemble are eligible

The guidelines for the submissions:
1. Applicants may be of any nationality and age.
2. Multiple submissions are welcome. The submission fee for each piece is 20 USD.
3. Pieces requiring electronics or amplification will not be considered.
4. Pieces have been performed before are welcome.
5. For selected composers, we will be offering accommodation for the period from the rehearsal to the day after the performance. However, we will not be able to provide additional funding or accommodation. Composers will also have to be responsible for the flight and local transportation.
