 Finnish Microtonal Society
Summary:Microtonal Call
Deadline: 04 August 2018
Date Posted: 18 July 2018
Details: We announce that works for the glissando flute are sought for a concert in Helsinki on Friday 19th of October, 2018. The concert will be held as part of MikroFest Helsinki 2018.

The concert space will be the gallery Myymälä2 (Uudenmaankatu 23, Helsinki, Finland).

The concert will concentrate on compositions that include microtonality.
Works containing improvised, meaning not strictly and thoroughly notated, durations and dynamics will be given preference. Microtonal elements can be notated with high precision if desired.

Submission Rules and Guidelines
Please send a finished composition for one musician playing the glissando flute with or without tape electronics.

There are no limitations as to who may apply. The work may be old or new, previously performed or unperformed.

Your message has to contain the performance material and duration estimate for your finished work and your composer name, telephone number and email address. Other contact or biographical information is not necessary.

If using electronics, the electronics part has to be in fixed time (“tape” or “fixed media”) and have up to two channels, using two loudspeakers. No live electronics are available. A headphone with a clicktrack for the musician is allowed.

The flutist is comfortable with a small amount of theatrical activity and has a speaking voice in the tenor range. The flutist will perform in a gallery space next to a work of visual art.

No specific preparations, video, lighting or additional stage objects are allowed.
