Eligibility of Applications: • This competition is open to all composers, harpists and non harpists alike. • All submitted pieces must be new works that are unpublished. There are two categories, one for original works and the other for arrangements. • Each composer can submit as many compositions as they wish in their application. • Compositions by more than one composer are not eligible for application. • Length: up to 10 minutes (10:00) • Instrumentation: Solo harp or ensemble with the harp taking an important role. • Style: Jazz or contemporary popular idiom. • There is a one off £5 entry fee. Categories • Original Jazz or pop style work for Solo Harp or Ensemble featuring Harp • Arrangements Arrangements will be admitted in a separate category, adjudicated and awarded separately. They will not be eligible for publication. Prizes • Publication in the Wild Strings 2018 book (prize for original compositions only.) • Performance at Wild Strings festival • Pilgrim Harp 19-string Solidbody Electric Harp • Individual publication of piece by PoppyHarp (prize for original compositions only.) • Additional prizes to be announced. Submission Procedure: To submit your entry, please send your piece along with a short biography using the contact form below. - upload an anonymous of the PDF score - a computer simulation or audio file of the piece Once you have submitted your piece please make sure you pay the £5 years subscription to the Future Blend Project by clicking the button below. If you do not pay your subscription your submission will not be valid. Judging is blind, therefore composers must remove all identifying labels and printed names from all the above mentioned materials to assure anonymity before the judges.
