I-Park Accepting Applications for Composers + Musicians Collaborative Residency
Summary:Residency Programme
Deadline: 19 February 2018
Date Posted: 01 February 2018
Details: I-Park is now accepting applications for its 2018 Composers + Musicians Collaborative Residency, taking place July 24 – August 6 at I-Park’s East Haddam, Connecticut, campus.

Composers interested in creating new chamber ensemble works are encouraged to apply for this program, which teams five composers with an established ensemble. Each composer spends two weeks in intensive daily rehearsals with the musicians, shaping and polishing a substantially complete composition to a state of concert readiness. The residency culminates in a pair of public performances in Connecticut and New York City.

This year’s composers will be collaborating with the Akropolis Reed Quintet. Founded in 2009 at the University of Michigan, Akropolis has toured internationally and is the recipient of six national chamber music prizes. Akropolis has recorded three albums, including its 2017 release, The Space Between Us.

Residencies are fully funded, and include a private room, a meal program, and a $1,000 stipend. Applications are due February 19, 2018; details and application forms are available at i-park.org.
