Details: Con el proposito de promover la creación de música nueva en el país y la formación de nuevos públicos sensibles a la música contemporánea, el Ensamble A Tempo y el Centro Mexicano para la Música y las Artes Sonoras (CMMAS) convocan a creadores de nacionalidad mexicana a componer obras electroacústicas y acústicas para los conciertos del Ensamble A Tempo, a realizarse durante la temporada 2018-2019.

Tres obras mixtas para ensamble y nuevas tecnologías serán seleccionadas para su estreno en el CMMAS durante el segundo semestre del 2018. Los compositores de dichas obras serán beneficiados, además del estreno, con la posibilidad de realizar una residencia artística de tres días en un estudio del CMMAS inmediatamente antes del estreno de la obra, para los ajustes finales de la electrónica y preparar su estreno.

Con sede en la ciudad de Morelia, Michoacán, el CMMAS es una iniciativa de la Secretaría de Cultura Federal, a través del Centro Nacional de las Artes (CENART) y de la Secretaría de Cultura de Estado de Michoacán (SECUM). El CMMAS ofrece la infraestructura y el personal humano necesarios para la exploración y la realización de proyectos creativos de compositores, intérpretes y artistas sonoros. El Centro está preparado para incorporar, de manera eficiente, los proyectos no convencionales que puedan aportar una visión diferente en la manera de trabajar o integrar el sonido.

REQUISITOS:

1. Ser mexicano por nacimiento o por naturalización.
2. Entregar un proyecto de composición de una obra electroacústica o acústica para la siguiente dotación:
- Flauta en C.
- Oboe.
- Clarinete en Bb o/y bajo. Mismo instrumentista.
- Fagot.
- Trompeta en Bb. Con sordinas straight, cup y Harmon.
- Piano.
- Violín.
- Viola.
- Cello.
- Contrabajo.
NOTA: El ensamble puede utilizarse parcialmente, pero como mínimo deberán utilizarse 7 instrumentistas.
3. La duración de la obra deberá ser no menor a 3 minutos, ni mayor a 8 minutos.
4. En caso de que la obra presentada incorpore fragmentos musicales o textos literarios de titularidad distinta a la del autor de la misma, a excepción de que se realicen a modo de cita, dichos fragmentos o dichos textos deberán aparecer escritos en la partitura y los materiales, así como se deberán acreditar los permisos correspondientes. En todos los casos, el ensamble se deslinda de cualquier responsabilidad y ésta recaerá absolutamente en los autores.
5. En caso de ser una obra mixta, el compositor deberá aportar todo el software necesario para los ensayos y la ejecución de la misma, y el hardware especial en caso de ser necesario.
6. La obra no deberá haber sido interpretada o grabada con anterioridad.

DOCUMENTOS:

Todos los documentos y el proceso de selección lo realizará el Ensamble A Tempo.
1. Identificación oficial (formato JPG/PDF).
2. Currículum vitae, donde indique nombre completo o alias, lugar y fecha de nacimiento, estudios generales, actividades profesionales y artísticas realizadas a la fecha, reconocimientos, premios y becas recibidos (formato DOC/PDF).
3. Descripción detallada del proyecto de composición. El proyecto debe incluir las características del mismo y los objetivos a lograr, considerando la instrumentación arriba descrita y, en su caso, el uso de la electrónica (formato DOC/PDF).
4. Carta compromiso donde, en caso de resultar seleccionado, el compositor se compromete a entregar todos los materiales musicales correspondientes para la interpretación de la obra el día lunes 25 de junio del 2018 y, que en caso de ser seleccionado para la residencia en el CMMAS, se compromete a asistir a la misma, a los ensayos y al estreno de la obra (formato DOC/PDF).
5. TODOS LOS ARCHIVOS DEBERÁN SER COMPRIMIDOS EN UN SOLO ARCHIVO FORMATO RAR.


PROCEDIMIENTOS:

1. Las postulaciones se recibirán vía email o WeTransfer desde la publicación de esta convocatoria, hasta las 23:59 horas (CST) del Lunes 26 de marzo del 2018, en el correo contact@ensambleatempo.com. El correo deberá llevar como asunto CONV2018 y el primer apellido del compositor o alias. No se aceptarán solicitudes que lleguen después del límite mencionado y no se recibirá material alguno por fax o mensajería.

2. Cualquier postulación incompleta será rechazada de la convocatoria.
3. Los resultados de los proyectos seleccionados se darán a conocer el día lunes 9 de abril del 2018. Los autores serán notificados vía correo electrónico y en la página web del CMMAS.
4. Los compositores, al participar en esta convocatoria, aceptan las decisiones artísticas del ensamble y autorizarán mediante escrito la interpretación de su obra para futuras presentaciones del ensamble.
5. Para la residencia en el CMMAS, el compositor seleccionado deberá cubrir su traslado hasta la ciudad de Morelia, Michoacán, así como sus alimentos. El hospedaje y apoyo técnico será cubierto por el CMMAS.
6. Cualquier cosa no estipulada en esta convocatoria, será resuelta por la dirección artística del ensamble y por el CMMAS.

With the purpose of promoting the creation of new music in the country and the formation of new audiences sensitive to contemporary music, the Ensamble A Tempo and the Mexican Center for Music and the Sound Arts (CMMAS) invite creators of Mexican nationality to Compose electroacoustic and acoustic works for the Ensamble A Tempo concerts, to be performed during the 2018-2019 season.

NOTE: The assembly can be used partially, but at least 7 instrumentalists should be used.
3. The duration of the work must be not less than 3 minutes, nor longer than 8 minutes.
4. In the event that the submitted work incorporates musical fragments or literary texts of a different ownership to that of the author of the same, except that they are made by way of quotation, said fragments or said texts must appear written in the score and the materials, as well as the corresponding permits must be accredited. In all cases, the assembly disclaims any responsibility and this will fall entirely on the authors.
5. In case of being a mixed work, the composer must provide all the necessary software for the tests and the execution of the same, and the special hardware if necessary.
6. The work must not have been interpreted or recorded previously.

DOCUMENTS:

All the documents and the selection process will be done by the A Tempo Assembly.

4. Commitment letter where, in case of being selected, the composer undertakes to deliver all the corresponding musical materials for the interpretation of the work on Monday, June 25, 2018 and, that in case of being selected for residency in the CMMAS, agrees to attend the same, to the rehearsals and to the premiere of the work (DOC / PDF format).
5. ALL FILES MUST BE COMPRESSED ON A SINGLE RAR FORMAT FILE.


PROCEDURES:

1. Applications will be received via email or WeTransfer from the publication of this call, until 23:59 hours (CST) on Monday March 26, 2018, in the email contact@ensambleatempo.com. The mail must be CONV2018 and the first name of the composer or alias. Applications that arrive after the aforementioned limit will not be accepted and no material will be received by fax or courier.

2. Any incomplete application will be rejected from the call.
3. The results of the selected projects will be announced on Monday, April 9, 2018. Authors will be notified via email and on the CMMAS website.
4. The composers, when participating in this call, accept the artistic decisions of the ensemble and will authorize in writing the interpretation of their work for future presentations of the ensemble.
5. For the residence in the CMMAS, the selected composer must cover his transfer to the city of Morelia, Michoacán, as well as his food. The lodging and technical support will be covered by the CMMAS.
