How might we sing a sunset? How might we find the lost chord of the mountains? Might the night sky be a musical score?! In this course we will explore musical responses to landscape and ‘sense of place’. Calling on all participants to engage creatively and collaboratively we shall, over the course of the week, work together to create a piece of music that reflects our collective responses to the incredible environment and surroundings of Sierra de la Muela. The course is open to musicians and singers with some experience, who are interested in developing their skill, working collaboratively and engaging creatively with place and environment, as well as writers who are interested in working with music. Together, we will explore different styles, with an emphasis on creating something new, as a group, using improvisation and simple compositional techniques. MATERIALS NEEDED Please bring your own instrument (acoustic if possible). PRICE • The cost for our courses is £625 for a full week of a specific course, or £675 if you also wish to benefit from the morning and evening yoga sessions. • The price includes six days of morning and afternoon taught sessions, breakfast, lunch and evening meals, none alcoholic beverages throughout the day, and of course, accommodation. We cater for all dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan. Please make this clear when booking and we are more than happy to answer any queries you have. • The cost does not include flights as these vary, and as our courses are out of peak season, often cheap flights can be found. Most budget airlines fly to Alicante. From Alicante airport there is a regular bus service taking you straight to Murcia central station, were you can take buses to Catagena, where we can pick you up. • If a group of at least twenty people required it, we can organise a transfer bus from and to Alicante airport for an extra fee of £30 per person. Please make sure to specify that you would require airport transfer. The price of the transfer will only be paid once a group big enough is interested in it. We will confirm this by email as soon as we know.
