Key opportunities will be likely to include: • Creating incidental music for the Lyric’s main stage autumn 2018 production which is a co-production with HOME, Manchester (subject to creative team appointment/ agreement). • Involvement in a Research and Development period working on a variety of main stage productions in early to mid-stages of development (May – July 2018). • Working with the Lyric Young Company’s Director to develop new musical material for young people as part of the re-launched Lyric Young Company (18 – 25 year old performing company in training) (March – September 2018). • Opportunities to collaborate with emerging artists and Young Lyric members on a variety of projects throughout the placement. • Access to music practice rooms and the Lyric’s recording studio How to apply: If you are interested in applying please complete the on-line application form. Timetable & Process: All applications must be received by midnight on Monday 04 September 2017. If you have been shortlisted we will aim to let you know by Friday 13 October 2017. All shortlisted candidates will then be required to write two short pieces of music/song to a specific brief which will need to be submitted by midday on Friday 03 November. From this process a final shortlist of candidates will be selected for interview; you will be notified by Wednesday 15 November whether or not you have been shortlisted further. A final interview with representatives of the Lyric Hammersmith will take place on the week of 27 November 2017. Please note the above is subject to change but we will keep you updated at all times. The successful recipient will need to be a member of Mercury Musical Developments in order to receive the award; however, you do not need to be a member to apply.
