"YOUR STORY THROUGH VOCAL IMPROVISATION" Workshop and Performance Join us for a one-day workshop that will culminate in our vocal improvisation performance. In this group workshop we focus on listening, voicing, sounding and creating. We will work with the elements of improvised singing including melody, harmony, vocal percussion, text and pulse in an atmosphere of safety and support. Would you like to find the roots of your own musicality? Through vocal improvisation each person connects with their own music, as well as the experience of listening and improvising with others. We come to understand non-verbal singing as a language. Each participant brings their own story that will stimulate the group to create unique songs. Each of us will be an integral part of the process. ...spontaneity, freedom, knowledge, inspiration, self-discovery, fun, collaboration, flow, expression, listening, breathing, entertaining, freeing, motivating, exploring... Are you petrified of singing in front of others, of sharing your thoughts through music or even making something up on the spot? Either way, this session is JUST FOR YOU! Vocal Improvisation is valuable whether you are a professional singer yearning to deepen your creative intuition or you are someone who is longing to bring out the inner singer that lives inside of you. What to expect? We start with a body & breath & voice warm-up; follow up by an exploration of vocal techniques and a basic improvisation vocabulary. We gradually move from silence, listening to your voice, toning, exploring the vocal creativity of the group, towards guided vocal sound exercises, sound bathing, harmonies and circle singing. There is no previous experience required at all. " The human voice is the first and most natural musical instruments. This means that all the musical instruments are hidden within us. The more we master our voice, the more freely we use it and the more we understand ourselves. The voice is telling everything about us, and that is why we can express our feelings while singing.
