Details: The Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Composers is pleased to invite Los Angeles composers to participate in two concerts, August 27 (Culver City) and August 28, 2016 (San Fernando Valley). The concerts will feature bassoonists Julie Feves and Jonathan Stehney [their bios are below]. As part of the presentation, Jonathan will give a 15-minute lecture/demo about extended techniques for bassoon. Feves and Stehney will play the Duo Sonata (1977) by Sofia Gudaidulina, that they intend to record later this year.

In addition, works up to ten minutes in duration by NACUSA Composers will be considered for this concert: for solo bassoon (or contrabassoon); two bassoons; bassoon and piano; or two bassoons and piano, or piano solo. Works for bassoon (or two bassoons) and tape will also be considered. All submissions must be sent via E- mail to Bill Toutant, NACUSA-LA Concert Chair at william.toutant@csun.edu.

Please send:

1. Legible score in Adobe Acrobat PDF format as an attachment.
2. An audio file in Mp3 format as attachment.
3. In the email, include the title and duration of the composition, as well as a bio (150 words maximum), and program note (150 words maximum).
4. Deadline July 25, 2016 11:59 pm.

All Southern California composers who have joined or renewed their NACUSA-Los Angeles Chapter membership for 2016, by the submission deadline are eligible. If your piece is accepted, you will be required to provide the score and parts for the performers by August 1.

Concerts are offered FREE of Charge to the Los Angeles Community.
