 Call for Scores: Music Marathon
Summary:Opportunity for composer-performers
Deadline: 02 October 2016
Date Posted: 14 July 2016
Details: Deadline: October 2nd, 11:59pm.

Description
Call for performances to take place during our 12-hour marathon of women’s music. Open to women composer-performers, women composers providing their own performers, and performers presenting works by living or historical women composers.

Performances of any music by women composers, living or historical, will be considered. We are particularly interested in performances of music by women of color, performances of instrumental works by historical composers, and performances of music that follow current compositional trends.

Selected performances will be presented during the marathon on Saturday, April 1st, 2017. All submissions will be reviewed in a two-tiered, anonymous selection process. Entries must be received via our online submission page by Sunday, October 2, 2016.

Submission Guidelines
• Entrants may send up to two submissions.
• Proposed performances may be from 5 to 55 minutes in length and should include time for setting up and tearing down the stage.
• Entrants should send a summary (maximum 300 words) describing their performance program and what this program would offer audiences and participants of Women Composers Festival of Hartford.
• Composer-performers and composers providing their own performers should submit scores electronically (PDFs only) WITHOUT their name or identifying information on the score or in the file name and metadata.
• Recordings of new works are strongly encouraged. A sample recording should be sent in mp3 format WITHOUT identifying information in the file name or metadata (information that would show up when imported into iTunes).
• Performers submitting a proposal including works by living or historical composers are not required to submit PDFs but must provide sample recordings of all works to be performed. Recordings must feature all performers who will be present for the Festival. These recordings should be sent in mp3 format WITHOUT identifying information in the file name or metadata (information that would show up when imported into iTunes).
• Entrants must submit a document (PDF only) which lists the following of all performers involved: name, address, phone number, email address, and a 100-word biography. If the ensemble is established and performs together frequently, group members’ names may be listed with the point person’s contact information and a 100-word biography about the ensemble.
• A list of technical requirements and required equipment must be provided (e.g. microphones, LCD projector, sound system).
• Materials must be submitted through our online submission form.
