duoKYaria
duoKYaria, the recent winner of the Beverly Hills National Competition 2015, is the Los Angeles based flute and harp duo formed by two passionate young professionals, Yoon-Hee Jung, flute and Ko-Ni Choi, harp. Individually both Ms. Jung and Ms. Choi have been performing extensively in North America, Europe and Asia, especially Japan and Korea. They have founded their duo, duoKYaria, in 2014 to share the beauty of the flute and harp ensemble to diverse audiences. They are expanding the flute and harp repertoire by transcribing, commissioning, and composing new music, not commonly played as this ensemble.

In this season they have played over 10 solo engagements throughout the country including performances at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills and the Polish Music Center in Los Angeles which houses the largest depository of Polish music and scholarship in the US. In 2016, duoKYaria has released their first album called le petite cadeau de duoKYaria which includes their passionate and intense transcriptions of Carmen Fantasie for flute and harp.

Their successful concerts, engagements, and projects from this season carries over to next year where they will be performing in many new venues. They will be partnering with Vox Novus based in New York, where they will be premiering their first commissioned work. duoKYaria is also championing classical music by working on creating various programs to be more accessible to audiences of all ages. For example, one concert will be focused on kids, in which children will learn different sounds and effects of the instruments by hearing their favorite tunes ranging from Disney songs and folksongs to pop songs on the harp and flute. duoKYaria will be presenting another concert program that will be featuring the most recognized concertos for the flute and harp, individually, and as a duo. duoKYaria is also in the process of publishing their transcriptions to expand the repertoire of flute and harp and to show how artistically exciting the flute and harp can be as a duo.
