Details: The Chicago Composers’ Consortium, a composer-run collective founded in 1989, is seeking a work for woodwind quintet for its October 30, 2016 concert, to be held at the Music Institute of Chicago in Evanston, IL. The chosen work will complete a program of works by the Consortium’s own members. It will also be included on any future repetitions of the program.
The performers will be Quintet Attacca (www.quintetattacca.com), one of the Chicago area’s finest wind chamber ensembles.

Scores and recordings will be reviewed by members of the CCC and Quintet Attacca.

-The chosen composer will receive a $250 stipend. Attendance at the event is strongly encouraged but not required.
-The submitted work may have had previous performance.
-Duration is no longer than 10 minutes.
-There is no age limit for the composer.
-One piece per composer.
-No anonymous submission.
-The instrumentation should be for standard woodwind quintet: Fl, Ob, Cl, Hn, Bn.

-Alternative instruments for each player can include:
Fl: pic/alto
Ob: EH/d’amore
Cl: Eb/bass/Bassett
Bsn: contra
Hn: Wagner Tuba
No oboe flutter tongue

Submission
• PDF file of the score (labeled LASTNAME_COMPOSITIONTITLE.pdf)
• A separate pdf with composition name, composer’s contact details, bio and short program note
• link to an online file or stream of an audio file of the piece
• (if no link available) an mp3 of piece (labeled LASTNAME_COMPOSITIONTITLE.pdf)

Review of scores will commence after receipt of payment. Digital submission only, please.

Deadline: May 28, 2016
The winner will be notified by July 1, 2016.
