CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

 CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Summary:Choir Competition
Deadline: None
Date Posted: 28 July 2015
Details: Chorosynthesis is currently seeking new, forward-looking, and distinctive choral compositions to consider for future performances by our project-based choir, Chorosynthesis Singers, as soon as the beginning of 2016. We welcome submissions of high-quality pieces you would like us to consider. Please read the following information and fill out the form below.

Chorosynthesis Singers is a project-based ensemble consisting of professional musicians and directed by one or more of Chorosynthesis’ directors (currently Drs. Wendy Moy and Jeremiah Selvey). For examples of the quality of singer performers, please visit our Brahms Requiem Project page. (Note: The Brahms Requiem performances were prepared with less than half the time we will be devoting to our upcoming 2016 project-based concert, and it is our intent to pay these performers in the upcoming performance.) The ensemble performs in various places throughout the United States and in conjunction and collaboration with various communities. The intentions of these performances is to create innnovative, but sustainable, collaborations that are focused on the art of choral performance.

As an organization, Chorosynthesis seeks to re-conceptualize and broaden the scope of American choral music by fostering innovation, sustainability, collaboration, and excellence in and among the choral arts and its communities through both a bottom-up and top-down approach. The purpose of this call for scores is to bring together professional conductors, composers, ensemble performers, and the community around the Chorosynthesis mission. Works and composers exemplifying or fitting into this mission will be given priority.

To that end, while all works will be considered, priority will be given to compositions:
- Written for 16-20 voices,
- Scored for a cappella voices OR possibly including instruments, up to a small chamber ensemble,
- Possessing a connection to/with (a) community AND/OR a message (overt or abstract) of social justice.

Instructions:
- Yes, you may submit more than one composition; however, please fill out a separate form for each composition.
- Please fill out the form completely. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

NOTE: Every submission will be reviewed by our Directors and the Artistic Advisory Committee, although it may take up to a year to thoroughly review your submission. If your piece has been selected for a performance or a project or if we need additional information from you, we will be in touch. All scores will be reviewed in the order they are received.
