Details: The Department offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate provision in Dance, Drama, Performing Arts and Music. Successful candidates will join a thriving department with 22 staff members, around 380 students (UG, PGT and PGR), wide-ranging interests and a developing research profile. The Department can be found at the University’s Kingsway Buildings with excellent facilities having seen a significant spend over the last three years to develop the site. The Department made its first RAE submission in 2008 and was graded 2* 70%; 3* 25% and 4* 5%. It has also recently submitted to the REF 2014.

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic research-active Lecturer to join the team lecturing in Music.

You will have a proven track record of lecturing in popular music; knowledge of other musical styles (e.g. classical) would be advantageous. A specialism in two or more of the following would be beneficial: Ensemble Coaching, improvisation, songwriting and composition, theory, music technology. Experience of working professionally in the music industry is desirable in addition to an emerging research profile.
