Details: The Director will provide visionary leadership for the School, plan strategically for its future, effectively manage its people and resources and play a lead role in fostering external and community relationships. The Director will also have academic oversight of the School’s learning and teaching and research programmes.

The New Zealand School of Music seeks to be the pre-eminent provider of music education in New Zealand, attracting the elite of students in New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region. The distinctive features of the School include its innovative approach to music which values composition, musicology, performance and music education equally and blends strengths in both classical and jazz performance and composition. They also include its fostering of New Zealand music and music from the Asia Pacific region.

Formerly a joint venture established through the integration of the music programmes of Victoria and Massey universities, the School is now wholly part of Victoria University.
