Tsonami Sound Art Festival 2014

 Tsonami Sound Art Festival 2014
Summary:Residency Programme
Deadline: 07 September 2014
Date Posted: 13 August 2014
Details: This call is aimed at researchers, artists or any interested parties, to develop projects that investigate and articulate the territorial and sonic dimension of the city of Valparaíso.

The unique and rugged geography of this port city makes the complex urban and social network set around self-construction, one of its characteristic features. This translates into an important spontaneous urban growth and a population with a high sense of belonging, that is accustomed to natural disasters and precariousness.

With this context as a starting point, Tsonami 2014 invites to explore the intersections between audible (or inaudible) reality and urban, cultural, social or historical complexity, through the construction of narratives and processes that research determined fields of action, in particular by means of methodologies that address a delimited spacial and/or conceptual axis.

The reality of a neighborhood, the micro-story, a dock, a ravine are examples of some of the possible topics to cover.

The call is oriented to the development of processes that can turn into future works, texts, sound pieces, installations, etc. This implies that no proposals for completed projects will be required, but rather a work methodology and a statement of intent.
