About the LCCO - we are a unique orchestra, which has the role of playing music by developing composers and giving them feedback. We were heard on Radio 3 as part of Making Music's Play to the Nation, and the composer of a piece workshopped and recorded by us won the Making Music category in the British Composers Awards in 2008.
Piece of the Year Competition
We have run a composition competition for student composers, and we may do so again. The previous winners were:
2011 winner: Ed Shellard
2010: a tie between Giles Brindley and Aleah Morrison
2009 winner: Nick Norton of UC San Diego
2008 winner: Dominic Irving of Trinity College of Music
