2013 Call for Scores: New Works for Unaccompanied Viola da Gamba * All materials should be received by 20 September 2013 * ELIGIBILITY: Open to composers of any age, nationality, etc. PRIZE: Selected works will be recorded by violist da gamba Andrew Arceci––featured on a CD devoted to new music for viola da gamba––and presented on concerts throughout the UNITED STATES, the UNITED KINGDOM, and THAILAND. Additionally, each successful composer will be given 10 copies of the CD. INFORMATION: Works should be original, unpublished, and composed for an acoustic 7-string viola da gamba. Works should be 3-5 minutes in length, and submitted anonymously; rather than signing works by name, composers should list a telephone number with international code. A shortlist of numbers (composers) will be called to discuss their submissions, but phone calls do NOT guarantee selected works. ENTRY FEE: Non-refundable $20.00 USD / £10.00 GBP cheque, money order, or bank transfer (per score). If you would like your score(s) returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. However, for anonymity, scores should only include the telephone number with international code.
