The Heartland Talent Showcase Composers’ Competition is an opportunity for young composers, ages 6 through 22, to produce musical works in a variety of styles for the purpose of competition. The Heartland Talent Showcase Composers’ Competition is designed to encourage young composers to create original musical works in a variety of compositional styles. Purpose Eligibility Genres Rules Timeline Awards Application Purpose The Heartland Talent Showcase Composers’ Competition is designed to encourage young composers to create original musical works in a variety of compositional styles. The purpose of this competition is to encourage creativity, self-expression, use of music theory, and use of technology in music in young composers. Secondarily, the purpose of the competition is to provide a forum for Young composers to publically perform their works while learning from the work of other youth composers. Eligibility Young people between the ages of 6 and 22 are eligible to submit an original music composition to the competition. Each competitor must be sponsored by his or her private or school music instructor. Four age categories will be available for entry. The categories will include the following: (6-11) Junior Division (12-16) Intermediate Division (17-22) Senior Division |
